3-year-old missing boy found inside water tank

A boy was found deceased inside a water holding tank at a Florida park on Sunday.

Amari Harley, 3-years-old, was at Bruce Park at 6549 Arlington Road in Jacksonville with his family on Oct. 22, 2017, when he went missing.  The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office began a search at the park and sadly a child’s body was found inside a water tank at the park around 7:50 p.m. that evening.

JSO Assistant Chief Scott Dingee told ABC 10 News they called Public Works about opening a water tank at the park and confirmed it was large enough for Amari to get in. Public Works drained the tank and a child’s body was found.

The Jacksonville police state that the case is under investigation.  An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.  There will also be an investigation whether there was a top or not on the tank and whether there was a lock and it had been locked.
