Update: Body has been confirmed to be Alice.
A body found behind the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob Church in Somerset County may be missing school teacher, Alice Davis, 55.
A church group was in the woods behind the church when they unexpectedly came across the body.
Alice Davis, an English teacher at Parkside High School in Salisbury has been missing since September 4 after her husband said she she went to a local Wal-Mart. Her car was found abandoned in Fruitland, Maryland.
Authorities executed a search warrant on the Davis home on September 7. Upon arriving at the residence they found Jesse Davis, 58, Alice’s husband, dead. He had committed suicide.
“Jesse Davis initiated a deliberate, calculated and continuous course of deception and fabrication surrounding the disappearance of his wife,” said Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis during a press conference.
The body has been taken to the medical examiner for identification and determination of the cause of death.
