UPDATE: Sept. 7, 2012 – Jerice Hunter, the mother of 5-year-old Jhessye Shockley, has been arrested on first-degree murder and child abuse charges in her daughter’s death, according to police.
I have posted several stories on Jhessye. Just type Shockley in the search area and you can read them all.
Look at this sweet, little face. This is Jahessye Shockley, and she is missing.
Jahessye was last seen in her apartment on 43rd Avenue in Glendale, Arizona on Tuesday, around 4:00 p.m. She was home with the siblings, 6, 9, and 12, while her mom went to run an errand. When she got back, Jahessye was gone.
An Amber Alert has been issued, although the police are not sure if she has been abducted. A witness saw a woman who may have picked her up in a black 1998 – 2000 Chevrolet Malibu that was seen in the area.
The woman was described as 25-30 years old, 5’8″ tall, 120 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair that was in a bun. She was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans rolled up her leg. The police are asking for the woman to come forward if there has been a mistake so they can rule out that possibility.
Jahessye is 3’5″ tall, 55 pounds with brown eyes and black hair in a ponytail, and she was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and pink sandals.
If you have seen her, please contact the Glendale Police at 623-839-4357 or leave a tip here.
