UPDATE 2019 – A jury convicted Steven Capobianco, Carly’s ex-boyfriend in 2016 for her murder. He is serving a life sentence.
UPDATE: 3/3/14 – The police have reclassified Carly’s case from missing to homicide. Her ex-boyfriend is a person of interest but no one has been arrested.
Carly Scott, 27, from Wailuku, Hawaii has been missing since Monday. She was last seen at her sister’s home in Haiku, reports Maui News.
Carly’s 1997 Toyota 4Runner was found Wednesday in Haiku’s Peahi area. It has been torched. Her dog was found in a neighborhood of Nahiku.
Steven Capobianco, Carly’s ex-boyfriend said that Carly picked him up on Sunday and drove him to Keanae so he could fix his truck. Later on she was driving behind him to Haiku when he lost sight of her. He continued and assumed she went on her way.
Later he sent her a text, but wasn’t concerned when she didn’t respond because he thought she was working. In fact, he didn’t know anything was wrong until 5:30 the next day when the police came to his door.
Capobianco candidly admitted the police said he failed a lie-detector test they gave him.
Carly is pregnant and Capobianco stated he believes he’s the father but he doesn’t know for sure.
