UPDAT 3/28/17 – I have received reports that Ezra has been found safe.
Original story: A three-year-old boy has gone missing in the Sam Houston National Forest near New Waverly, Texas.
Ezra was camping with his family when he wandered off near Stubblefield Lake, reports ABC13.
Ezra was wearing a red shirt and blue shorts.
Authorities have been searching for him and have brought in tracking dogs to look for him. A video was posted on the Montgomery County Police Reporter that you can view here. The post stated: “A DPS helicopter just left the scene to refuel. Officials are not calling for volunteers as of yet as dogs are in the woods and others will confuse scents.” Jimmy Williams with the New Waverly Volunteer Fire Department are asking visitors not to enter the forest while canine units search the area. He also stated they will be searching throughout the night.
Brett Huffington from KHOU news is reporting from the scene.
Several other agencies have been called in to help.
The boy’s last name has not been released and this story will be updated as new information comes in.
