Remains of Wyoming woman missing since 2015 found

The remains of a missing Wyoming woman who has not been seen since 2105, have been found in a shallow grave.

The remains of Joann Hakes, 43, were found on May 18, 2019 in Etna, Wyoming, but identified later.

Hakes was last seen on January 3, 2015 at the Silver Stream Lodge in Thayne, Wyoming, according to Idaho Cold Cases.

Hakes was last seen leaving the lodge with Ronald Weerheim, 55. Ronald never reported her missing and when later asked about Joann, said she had left with some men in a truck.

On June 4, 2019, authorities arrested Ronald Todd Weerheim for the alleged crimes of First Degree Felony Murder, Second Degree Murder, and Kidnapping.

The case featured on Thin Air podcast February 13, 2018. In the podcast, Hakes’ daughter Laura Lee Jones said she suspected Weerheim.
