Renee “Chenell” Gilbert, 42, was last seen around Girls School and Rockville Roads on June 9, 2020 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“This is something that she would not do. She stays connected with her daughters and with her family,” Danyette Smith, a family advocate, said. “They’re afraid. They’re frightened… it’s beyond worried.”
Her daughter used the “Find my Phone” feature on her mother’s cell and located her car. But the homeowner near where the phone was pinged told Gilbert’s family that she drove to the house but never came inside. When the Gilbert’s family asked to take a look around inside, he refused so they ended up calling for police. 13News reported that IMPD Missing Persons eventually searched the residence where they found her car. Chenell was not found.
Sadly, in February 2020, Chenell’s mother was tragically killed while crossing Michigan Avenue and Chenell’s husband was also killed by a car in 2013.
Gilbert is described as 5’1” tall and weighing 169 pounds. She has black BRAIDED hair with gold streaks, and she was last seen wearing a black sweat suit and carrying a black tote purse.
If you have any information about where Gilbert could be or if you think you’ve seen her call police or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. .
